The American ideal is equal justice under law -- a nation where everyone plays by the same rules and pays the same penalties when they break those rules. This ideal is not reality, as our recent video with Glenn Greenwald reveals.
The author, constitutional lawyer, and journalist says the United States has a "two-tiered justice system" that treats the poor and regular folks far differently from elites. In the video, Greenwald says, "What you find is this extreme systemic leniency -- really impunity -- for the most powerful people in society at exactly the same time that you have completely harsh and brutal punishment for those who are marginalized and powerless."
Watch the video. If you like it, share it on Facebook and tag someone who has different political views than you do to see if you can both agree on the need for equal justice.
